The Manager, QA & Testing is responsible for leading the Corporate and Franchise QA teams in the development and management of QA structures and processes relating to IT projects. The QA team is responsible for ensuring that additions, changes and modifications to IT systems meet business requirements and expectations as it relates to “quality” prior to going into production. Responsibilities • Ensuring the delivery of optimal QA results within defined performance metrics including quality, timeliness, productivity and business satisfaction. • Determine, document and communicate the QA vision, development plan and process details. • Lead and coordinate QA activities across multiple projects. • Establish review guidelines and follow-up procedures to take corrective action where necessary. • Establish decision metrics for production promotion, and ensure a workable process is implemented to support this aspect of configuration and change management. • Support control mechanisms that are in place to verify compliance with IT policies and processes (for example, IT General Controls, CSOX Audit Controls). • Collaborate with Application Delivery Managers in order to determine priorities. • Provide direction and oversight to staff located in Calgary and Laval. • Mentor staff and oversee their skill development (technical and non-technical).. • Manage relationships with the other IT teams. • Manage relationships with 3rd parties supplying QA resources, services, and tools. • Define and ensure currency of QA environments; configure QA and production environments for store systems; participate in analysis and troubleshooting on various platforms (POS, WinDSS, AS400) and for BI and integration. REQUIREMENTS: • 8 - 10 years’ experience working in a Software development environment. • 5 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance. • The ability to deal with multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent organizational skills. • Excellent communication (written, verbal, presentation), negotiation and interpersonal skills. • Previous QA leadership experience in a software development environment. • Expert understanding of QA principles and practices. • Ability to write test strategies and test plans based on functional, non-functional requirements and use cases. • Working knowledge of automated testing tools and techniques. • Bilingualism (French) is an asset. Academic / Educational requirements • Computer Science degree or equivalent. • Certification in Quality Assurance is an asset.
