Working as part of the Operations team, the Network Administrator is responsible for the technical administration and support of the corporate network environment.
Key Job Functions
-Develop and implement plans and strategy for an enterprise-wide computer network using industry standard equipment and protocols
-Monitor and provide support for corporate VoIP network
-Manage and monitor network security, ensuring optimal protection of computing resources from identified security threats
-Provide third level support for all network, wireless, VPN, firewall, and WAN systems
-Monitor the ongoing operation of the network, producing trending reports, performing performance tuning, troubleshooting hardware, and application issues
-Work as a member of a team, adhering to corporate standards and change management processes, and work to improve standards and policies
-Implement policies and procedures for the ongoing, reliable operation of the enterprise network, including disaster recovery
-Write network documentation and provide training to IT groups
-Participate in projects as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues in both LAN and WAN environments
-Hands-on experience with Cisco firewalls, routers and switches
-Hands-on experience with one or more industry-standard sniffers
-Fluency with performance and availability metrics and tools
-Knowledge of QoS, and experience with VoIP systems
-Experience supporting networks in a Microsoft Windows environment, including the use of Microsoft DNS, DHCP, WINS, SMTP, etc.
-Basic project management skills
-Strong communication skills
-Must be a team player
Minimum Requirements
-Some post secondary education, with a minimum of 5 years experience in network administration in a Windows server environment
-Must have Cisco certification (CCNA acceptable, CCNP preferred)
-Must be able to respond to and perform troubleshooting 24x7
-Microsoft certifications (MCSE preferred)
-Experience with VMWare and/or SAN environments
